Mind you, I hadn&#8217;t submitted work to an exhibit\u00a0in two years. Life just got in the way.\u00a0Concentrating on\u00a0choosing\u00a0the right framed watercolors\u00a0from my studio (a clean corner of the basement), I\u00a0felt\u00a0my\u00a0excitement\u00a0mounting at the thought of\u00a0showing my work again. I used to eat, sleep, and\u00a0breathe art before I got a real life.\u00a0Yet, every time\u00a0I step back in the stream of art my pulse quickens. I&#8217;m in my element again.<\/p>\n<p>The art opening was glorious, and I was\u00a0thrilled when one of my watercolors\u00a0sold. Validation! Joy! Connection! All those feelings\u00a0mixed together into a cocktail of delight. I\u00a0was still on\u00a0a creative\u00a0high, when\u00a0one month after the show ended a second watercolor sold. Sometimes it&#8217;s the smallest thing that turns into the greatest gift. The first gift of connection between artist and collector was wonderful then to have a second one follow was the tastiest icing on the cake.<\/p>\n<p><em>Creativity and wellness message for today: Accept the gifts of recognition in honor of your creative expression, let them fill your heart.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently I entered\u00a0two paintings\u00a0in a local art show.
